Garratts are Delighted to Introduce Two New Partners

I am a first-generation lawyer from a working-class ethnic minority family. I attended state school and colleges throughout my education. I faced many challenges along the way both personal and professional.

I cannot say I was always passionate about becoming a lawyer as my overall goal was to merely get an education by going to university and become a Professional. It was encouragement from my late father, from a very early age that led to the path of the legal sector. In the absence of having any personal aspiration in relation to a career choice I decided to fulfil Dad’s dream. Fortunately for me, I was a driven individual generally and as such once my mind was made up I gave it my one hundred percent.

I qualified as a Solicitor in 2015 after completing my Legal Practice Course on a part time basis whilst working full time as a Paralegal. I was employed by a high street practice predominantly doing private family work.

My second legal position was as a newly qualified solicitor at Garratts where I was brought on board to assist the public law children team. I am proud to say within my initial 2 months I was handling my own case load and doing the majority of my own advocacy.

I very soon thereafter obtained my specialist Children Law Accreditation as well as being appointed a governing body with the Law Society. I gained a positive reputation within my circuit being the voice of the child as well as making a difference for my constituents by becoming a voice for them at the Law Society.

I was moving from strength to strength and at that point I knew the next step is to embark upon Partnership. I am excited and enthusiastic about this next chapter.

Garratts are Delighted to Introduce Two New Partners

I am very pleased to be appointed as a Partner at Garratts Solicitors and I am very much looking forward to the road ahead.

Ever since I made the decision to pursue a career as a Solicitor my ultimate goal was to become a part of a firm with principles and values that align with my own, and I very much feel that I have achieved this as Garratts Solicitors’ aim, first and foremost, is to help people (whether that be in relation to a Medical/Clinical Negligence Claim or simply in relation to Moving Home). As a firm, we always want the very best for all of our clients.

Although I chose to do a Law Degree I did not seriously consider a career in law until the second year of my degree and since then I have not looked back. The law and good legal practitioners are fundamental to the facilitation of relationships and transactions (business and personal) and my realisation of this has been a major motivator for my legal career choice.

I completed both my Law degree and the Legal Practice Course at Manchester Law School (Manchester Metropolitan University). My specialism is property and I am Head of the Conveyancing Department here at Garratts. I handle all aspects of conveyancing, and I regularly act on behalf of individuals, lenders, investors, developers and private limited companies.

I enjoy demystifying the legal process (as best as possible) for those for whom I act. I am approachable and endeavour to always provide a professional, efficient and good quality service.
